NOTE.When no speaker is scheduled at the women’s 6:00 pm support group, the women who are present often meet informally, or attend one of the other 6:00 pm sessions. Some of our women members have considerable experience from attending previous lectures, and they will gladly impart this knowledge to newer women attendees. Women are always welcome at the 7 PM main meeting.
To better serve you, doctors, and health professionals, will be invited to attend some of the monthly 6 PM sub-group meetings. Their attendance is expected to help clarify and explain medical questions that arise, and not for personal consultations. Physicians will be speaking at some of the Incontinence and Erectile Dysfunction sub-group meetings, and may attend the Active Surveillance / Watchful Waiting Group. Each meeting is unique unto itself. Please read every meeting notice to avoid missing a program you desire.
FACT: Many prominent doctors say that about 40 -50% percent of the men who were initially treated with surgery, and had negative margins, will have a rising PSA within 4 or 5 years. This same recurrence rate is also true of men who had radiation therapy. These men, and those who start with a high PSA & / or Gleason Grade, are Hi- Risers / Advanced PC men.
Note 1-This sub group meets 5 times a year. See schedule
